Renting Cooperative
Common Roots is pioneering a new way to rent. In our rental program, residents join the Common Roots Renting Cooperative. As members of the cooperative, they work together to manage and maintain the property where they live. In exchange for taking on this responsibility and staying long-term, renters build “rental equity.”
Common Roots wants our renters to love their home and stay, have a voice in their housing, and build wealth. If you want to learn more, please fill out our Renting Cooperative Interest Form.
Community Education and Workforce Development
In addition to developing quality affordable housing, Common Roots is building our community’s capacity to care for and rehabilitate our aging housing stock through Community Education and our Construction Cooperative. Our team is developing resources to help community members sustainably care for their homes, while our Construction Cooperative is partnering with workforce development agencies to provide training and apprenticeship opportunities for community members.
